Art Morrison Offers New Camaro Suspension And Catalog

We all know the first- and second-gen Camaro and Firebird are an exuberantly popular body style. Go to any classic car function, and you will see more than your fair share. Another GM model that seems to be a great platform for building a hot rod is the ’68 through ’74 Nova.

Suspension products abound for these models, and if you’re looking to make your hot rod handle… well… like a hot rod, you really need to check out these new bolt-in front ends from Art Morrison Enterprises (AME).

Big block, small block and LS-series Chevy engines can be employed, as well as virtually any popular automatic or manual transmission — including Richmond 5/6-speeds, Tremec T56, and TKO, Muncie, Powerglide, Turbo 350 and 400, 700R4, and 4L60E — thanks to a series of available mounts.

According to the press release, the newest GT Sport front subframe assembly from the chassis experts at Art Morrison Enterprises is truly a complete bolt-in installation and is designed and engineered using contemporary 3D laser scanning, CAD technology and FEA (Finite Element Analysis). This high-tech approach to development means the new AME GT Sport clip fits perfectly, provides a vast improvement in handling, and offers a 1 1/4-inch lower ride height than previous designs. This means your car will now have a great stance. Moreover, it’s substantially lighter than the bulky OE-subframe and improves performance accordingly.

The suspension features C6 Corvette knuckles, tubular control arms, increased camber gain, stable roll centers, and adjustable coilover shocks. Add to this a new three-position-adjustable hollow sway bar with adjustable links, and awesome handling is assured. Narrowed frame rails allow for many wheel and tire opportunities as well. In fact, we’re told 275/35R18 tires were used during the testing phase.

A power rack-and-pinion is mounted in a low position for easy oil pan fitment, available Chevy small block, big block, LS or LT engine mounts are available to coincide with a myriad of transmission options — both manual and automatic.

AME is not only offering the new bolt-in front clip, but for the many hot rodders out there not driving a first-gen Camaro, AME has published the 2019 edition of its full-line catalog. The vehicle fitment options found in this 72-page catalog are nearly endless. The publication contains both detailed product information and valuable technical content.

Inside the catalog, you’ll find an expanded list of AME’s trend-setting GT Sport chassis that are virtual bolt-in replacements for factory frames, yet provide contemporary ride, handling, and stance. Many enthusiasts will be happy to know that 1940s through ’70s cars and pickups are covered, and AME accommodates a wide range of engine and transmission options.

Also showcased in the catalog are the company’s Max G muscle car chassis, as well as CAD engineered “builder” chassis for most any application. AME also offers virtually everything needed to build the foundation of any mid-century (or later) restomod car or truck. You can find almost everything from a complete front or rear clip to chassis tabs and brackets. Also included are key components for both coilover and air spring suspensions — with Morrison’s highly acclaimed Multi-Link I.R.S. being at the top of the list. The catalog can be downloaded at www.artmorrison.com, with a free printed copy sent upon request.
