The 1967 Chevy II and it’s deluxe Nova SS rendition sales numbers were hurt in ’67 by the debut of the Camaro. But what might of been overlooked by some of the public then, is now one of the most sought after Chevys today. If you need an example of what these cars could become just watch the video below.

The video is one that we just stumbled upon on YouTube. It is of a ’67 Nova that is pushing over 1000 horsepower. The sound of the engine is amazing, but that begs the question, What’s under the hood? The ’67 didn’t come with very many engine options, in fact the top option was just the L30 327 with a few L79 versions of the 327.

So what powers this 1000 horsepower beast… A 396, 427, or 454? No the builders of this car went bigger. They dropped a 632c.i.d V8 and then to add to the 1000hp engine, they added a nitrous package. According to the uploader of the video, the car project has totaled $162,000 and has the best of the best. According to the video, the car will run a 8 second quarter-mile!

Is this the baddest Nova you’ve ever seen? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!
