We all love those times of smelling burning rubber and standing in smoke, after watching a great burnout at the drag strip. Well this my friends, is not one of those times. We came across a video this morning of a third generation Camaro entered in a burnout competition from a couple years ago in Yankton, South Dakota.

The driver gets the front tires strapped down and immediately starts to do a pretty pathetic “One Wheel Peel”. Right as the official is waving him to shut it down, the right rear tire explodes destroying the back of the car.

We don’t know if explode is a strong enough adjective for what really happened during that burnout. It sounded like a double barrel shotgun was fired from the back-half of the car. Which is ironic, because after the blowout the back half of the car looks like it was shot with that same shotgun.

The tire exploded with such force that it took the back glass with it! In all seriousness it’s a wonder that no one was injured from tire, body, or glass shrapnel entering the close crowd. Needless to say this young man has some hard work ahead of him to get this car back down the road. I for one would like to hear the excuse he told the insurance company the next day.
