Over at Pro-Touring.com, we’re used to seeing classic car after classic car with built engines, new suspension systems and refurbished bodies. However, we don’t always get to see the built engines outside of the cars. Thanks to Pro-Touring.com forum member “65 Drop Top” for posting up his engine specs and a few videos of the engine warming up and doing a dyno pull.
The engine is a 502 BBC with SRP 10.2 pistons, AFR 305 race heads, Comp roller cam XR294HR, Victor Jr. parts and Demon 850 carburetor. Once the engine was warmed up properly on the dyno, the best pull produced 602 horsepower and 623 foot-pounds of torque. While the numbers are impressive enough, the beastly sound of the engine is enough to get any gear-head’s attention.
While we don’t know exactly what kind of car this engine is going into, we can only hope that the rest of the vehicle will do this engine justice. We look forward to seeing the finished product of this forum member’s dedication to his vehicle. If the car is anywhere near as impressive as the engine, the owner is sure to encounter all kinds of positive attention.
