Just because Camaro production took an eight year hiatus doesn’t mean that all life stopped for the previous cars. An excellent example is this 4G Camaro Tee Top car that posted a standing mile run of 239.6 mph last month in Texas.

The first Texas Mile event was held in October, 2003, and now the bi-annual festival of speed draws participants from across the country as well as Mexico and Canada. Motorcycles, street performance cars, pure race cars and land speed racers gather for three days of unlimited runs on a one mile stretch with a half-mile run off zone.

Kelly Bise had the car built up by Late Model Racecraft in Houston and we’ve previously shown you a dyno run where they pulled 1,800 hp on the rollers.

Watching the video, you’ll see that this twin-turbo Camaro handles the run almost without drama. According to reports, the boost was only turned up half way and the car was still running twenty-inch street tires. There could be a lot more to come from this particular Bowtie. Stay tuned.
