Thousands Off Chevy Trucks Taking December Sales Sky High

What would it take to get you into a new Chevy truck? How about thousands off the sticker-price in the window? That’s exactly what Chevy dealerships across the country are now offering to get customers into brand new trucks, jumpstarting December’s sales in high gear, according to Yahoo Autos. But it’s not just Chevy trucks that are part of the deal. Other Chevys qualify too. Anyone still looking for Christmas gift ideas?

For years now, major automotive manufacturers have offered deals in December to increase their sales numbers for the year.

While we’re used to seeing a couple thousand dollars in bonuses offered, Chevy has gone above and beyond this year, offering discounts as high as $5,000 and more on some of there trucks.

And while this already sounds like a great deal, some dealerships are getting creative with their bonuses, offering anywhere from about $9,000 off the sticker price all the way up to $13,000 off, like one George Chevy dealership was offering on Silverados. Vehicles like the Chevy Cruze and Traverse have also gotten a bump in their discounts.

So why such a big surge in discounts and bonuses this year? Well, us Chevy fans partially have companies like Ford and Ram to thank for that. In November, the other major American truck manufactures offered stellar discounts on their trucks, ranging from a few grand all the way up to $8,200 in discounts, which Ram offered on their trucks. The result was a massive build up in inventory of comparable Chevy trucks. According to November’s truck count, Chevy dealerships were sitting on some 245,853 trucks, twice the normal inventory. So Chevy responded with killer deals for December.

With the massive discounts and bonuses pouring down on Chevy customers, sales have increased greatly.

With buyers looking to replace cars lost in the recent Hurricane Sandy disaster, customers wanting something new for the next year and discounts continuing to pile on, December is expected to be one of the biggest sales months in the last few years.

Other manufactures are also offering discounts across the board this month, but none have eclipsed those being offered by Chevy yet.

Tis the season for gift giving and receiving, and obviously the right time of year to get yourself into a new Chevy.
