No one can accuse car people of lacking creativity or vision. Indeed, it seems that backyard mechanics and garage gearheads are some of the most creative and skilled artists on the planet. Some people’s automotive creations transcend mere transportation and enter the realm of sculpture, or even monument. Truly these men and women who create these awesome automobiles deserve a place among the great artists of the world.
Of course, not every car creation is a work of art. Take a look at this shortened, awkward, ’57 Chevy wagon/pickup/hot rod sort of thing found on The Truth About Cars. What the hell would you call this?
According to what we can scrape together from TTAC, this car currently resides in a Denver scrapyard, where it is driven around for scrap searches and part queries. It certainly is more interesting than a quad or golf cart, that’s for sure.
Apparently, this project started life as a simple 1957 Chevy station wagon, perhaps one that received and aggressive roof chop at some point. That is the least of the modifications though, as at some point in its long, tragic life, this vehicle had a truck bed added on to it, and what looks like the side of a 1957 Chevy sedan.
Yes, its quite the contraption, and it only gets better. Under the hood is a big-block 427 engine hooked up to a five-speed transmission. Does the madness never end? Would you drive this wreck, or scrap it?
