No, this isn’t a car that Chevy and Cadillac made as a prototype. It’s quite worse then that actually. This is something out of your worst nightmare, a car that will give you the shivers.
This is a 1995 Chevy Lumina, with the tail end of a Cadillac. Why anybody would do such a thing to a Lumina or a Cadillac is beyond us. The fins claim to be off a 1957 model, although one person said they look like 1958 fins. Either way, a classic Cadillac sacrificed it’s hind end to complete the Luminac.
We will say that it appears to be well done. The trunk lid was narrowed and the body work is spot on. They committed fully, even painting the entire car in a vibrant orange color. You can’t forget about the flames either, which are rather poorly laid out, but you get the idea.
The rest of the car appears stock. A V6 engine resides under the hood, and the interior is still the stock gray and blue set up, which clashes with the exterior styling. Reupholstering the inside would have been a nice touch for this custom car. The rims are stock as well, which stick out like a sore thumb with the customization of the car, and don’t tend to flow very well.
As the old saying goes though, “different strokes for different folks.” While this Luminac isn’t our cup of tea, it might be right up your alley. Hop on over to Craigslist to see the full listing.
