It’s not hard to come up with a list of classic Chevys that a lot of car collectors would love to have. What is hard, is finding that perfect vehicle when the time comes to add one to your collection. The 1958 Impala is one of those must-have cars. Lucky for you, there’s one that will soon be crossing the auction block at an upcoming Mecum auction!
We first heard about the gloriously restored first-year Impala through GM Authority and had to check it out for ourselves. Expertly equipped with a 348ci engine, which is fitted with correctly rebuilt carburetors and tied to a correct Powerglide automatic transmission, this vintage Chevy is everything we’d hoped for and more.
In addition to being fully restored and equipped with some factory-correct basics, the Impala also offers a bump in class with a Continental spare-tire kit on the rear, power brakes, steering, windows and top inside, and traditional wide whitewall tires surrounding classic spinner wheel covers.
A Wonderbar radio and electric clock make the roomy interior a bit more modern, while remote spotlights with integrated mirrors and an expertly-laid Snowcrest paint scheme, contrasted with the car’s correct tri-toned Coral interior, help maintain the car’s vintage aesthetics and curb-appeal.
