Hot Rod enthusiasts in Colorado have continually surprised the community by showing up in droves whenever an event comes to the region. Typically we have been shocked by the caliber of Rods that we see featured from the area which explains why the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association has held 18 very successful annual events in the mile-high state.
The usual suspects seeking to round up more awards and trophies are expected to show up in September in Loveland, Colorado, for the Goodguys Rod and Custom show. Legendary car owners like Larry Christensen, whose 1932 Ford is always a treat to win Hot Rod of the Year, and Tom Ulrich, who always brings something special to the show-usually a Mercury-will undoubtedly bring another show-stopper.
Pueblo, Colorado’s Jim & Terry Smith will likely bring their 1933 Ford to face off against the region’s best. Bob Zetterman, from nearby Arvada, Colorado, can be counted on to cruise out in his classic 1957 Chevy.

This year’s event has switched from the previous year’s June date to September to offset some of the major festivals taking place in Greely and Fort Collins during the same timeframe. This will allow the locals the opportunity to hit all of the summer and fall events that Colorado has to offer.
Automotive enthusiasts and fans of custom Hot Rods will want to circle September 11th through September 13th on their calendars. The event hours will run from 8:00am to 5:00pm on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, and on Sunday, September 13, from 8:00am to 3:00pm.
