We’ve all fallen victim to wanting to move on to the next best thing. But in the case of a car listed for sale on Pro-Touring.com, the owner’s want to build something else is your gain. While the owner is walking away from a pristine ‘67 El Camino, you could be gaining one hell of an impressive car.
Jason Dixon, the owner of the El Camino is selling it after doing all but the interior work on the car with his dad some 13 years ago. The car does sport some original parts, like all the original sheet metal, dash pad and door panels, but also has plenty of pro-touring goodies as well.
The El Camino is equipped with a GM ZZ3 crate engine matted to a 700R4 transmission. A Ron Davis dual fan radiator with transmission cooler is used to keep the system at the optimum temperature. For the rear end, a narrowed Moser 9-inch was implemented.
While a few engine and drivetrain upgrades have been made, the El Camino really shines when it comes to performance suspension components. QA1 single adjustable coil overs and rear shocks were put on the car, as well as OPG 2” rear lowering springs and a Hotchkiss “Extreme” sway bar set. Rear upper adjustable control arms and lower tubular control arms from Global West were also added.
To make the braking as reliable as the suspension, a Wilwood SL6 six piston big brake kit was put on the front while Wilwood Dynalite four piston brakes with an integrated parking brake was put on the rear of the El Camino. Rounding out the performance handling on the car is Forgeline wheels and Toyo tires.
If you’re interested in owning this pristine El Camino, it can be yours for $30,000.
