We have reported to you updates as soon as we see them on the new Z/28 and the response has been overwhelming. Everybody seems to be in love with the car, with the exception of one problem: the price.

With a hefty price tag of $75,000, many of us are asking ourselves why would we buy the Z/28, when we could buy a Z06 Corvette for cheaper? Well according to GM Authority, while we were all pondering that question, the first 500 Z/28’s sold out. But have no fear if you missed out. For 2015, Chevy is going to produce an additional 2,500 of these race cars.

For those of us wondering why the heck anybody would pay that much for a Camaro, we have to look at this car from a different light. These Z/28s aren’t a daily driven street car that you drive to Starbucks. Well, you can, but that’s not the intended purpose. These Z/28’s are a race car that’s street legal. They have been stripped and lightened to keep the car light as possible. There’s a single speaker stereo, only for mandated safety reasons with the option for a full stereo system. Air conditioning is the only other option, as it’s not standard on this car.
