Summit Racing has carried Tuff Stuff alternators, starters, and water pumps for GM’s squarebody C10 trucks for as long as we can remember. Now we’ve grouped all of the Tuff Stuff items we offer for your favorite pickup in one place instead of making you do a bunch of searching. Let’s explore, shall we?

High Output Factory Cast Plus Alternators

These alternators are hand-built with the best bearings, diodes, and copper windings available. The Factory Cast finish duplicates the look of a natural-finish factory alternator; it’s very durable and will prevent case pitting and discoloration.

Available in 80, 100, and 140 amp output ratings, the 10si alternators can handle most anything electrical you care to hang on your C10, even at idle. Most Factory Cast Plus alternators have a one-wire connection to tidy up your engine compartment.

Black Stealth High Output Alternators

Available in 65 to a whopping 250 amp ratings, the Black Stealth alternators are designed to make more power at idle to keep your battery fully charged at all times. Hand-built with the best bearings, diodes and copper windings available, the alternators have a black powdercoat finish that is 20 times more durable than ordinary paint. Most Black Stealth alternators have a simple one-wire connection.

Supercool Water Pumps

Tuff Stuff’s Supercool water pumps feature a custom impeller that flows 30% more coolant to reduce water temperature by up to 20 degrees compared to less-super pumps. The high-volume pumps are made from all-new components, and have ball/roller bearings and a spin-balanced fan hub to handle high RPM use. You’ll get a cast iron or aluminum pump based on the original factory applications. Many pumps are available with a choice of natural, chrome- plated, polished, and powdercoated finishes in several colors.

Gear Reduction Starters

Tuff Stuff gear reduction starters provide up to 30% more starting torque than full size starters, but draw just half the amperage. They’re also lighter and much smaller—a big plus for header, chassis, and oil pan clearance on modified trucks. The starters also have multi-indexing mounting bases so you can clock yours as needed for additional clearance.
