New from Detroit Speed – the 1982-92 Camaro/Firebird Strut Mount Retainers. These retainers feature OEM quality stamped 12 guage steel and pressed in studs. See more details below.
Official Release:
GM used 2 different mounting bolt patterns on the strut mount retainers. 1982-86 vehicles had a different bolt pattern than the 1987-92 vehicles.
All replacement strut mounts are machined to the 1987-92 mounting pattern. You can no longer purchase the 1982-86 strut mount retainers, so if you have a 1982-86 vehicle and purchase new strut mounts (included in the Detroit Speed Caster/Camber Plate Kit, p/n: 030330) your factory strut mount retainers will not work and you will need to purchase the 1987-92 retainers for your vehicle.
This kit will be added to the Detroit Speed Caster/Camber Plate kit (P/N 030330). The original strut retainers’ rust over time. This causes the studs to break when trying to remove the hardware to replace the strut mounts. The Detroit Speed Strut Mount Retainers will retail for $39/pair
