Professional racing can be a grueling and conflict-ridden sport, but for NASCAR drivers Jennifer Jo Cobb, who races Fords, and Mike Harmon, who races Chevys, the feud goes beyond friendly competition on the track. That’s because, according to AOL Autos, Harmon was recently accused of stealing a number of race vehicles that belonged to Cobb. This follows a previous incident where Harmon was accused of stealing Cobb’s race hauler just weeks ago, an incident in which he was officially charged.

On May 29th, North Carolina police officers raided Harmon’s properties, allegedly looking for Cobb’s race hauler, but what they found was far more than a single vehicle. Instead, the officers discovered two racecars and five race trucks, found in two separate garages, that had been allegedly stolen from Cobb at the end of last year.
Currently, Harmon is being watched by deputies closely due to their findings.
The raid comes just weeks after Harmon was arrested on an unrelated theft charge, this time for allegedly stealing Cobb’s race hauler from her property in the middle of the night. Harmon denies any ties to the theft, claiming he’s never even stole something as simple as bubble gum.
Although coming to light now, the feud between Cobb and Harmon has been ongoing for months now.
It all started when Cobb entered into a dispute with her former business partner, David Novak of JJC Racing, over who had the rightful ownership of the hauler, two cars and five trucks. Harmon is involved because he not only was the team manager for Cobb when she previously raced for the JJC Nationwide team, he also helped set up the joint venture between Cobb and Novak in 2010, and helped Novak retrieve the hauler in question from Cobb last December.

Could this truck, raced by Cobb just a few years ago, be part of the allegedly stolen property? We’ll have to wait and see.
At the time of the trailer’s first disappearance, Cobb took the trailer back from Novak and brought it back to her property in January of this year, claiming to be the rightful owner.
She has had possession of the trailer since and had been using it throughout her 2013 race season until it was taken allegedly by Harmon just a two weeks ago. The trailer has not yet been recovered.
Now, we expect our favorite drivers, no matter what series they race in, to have a competitive relationship with their fellow drivers, but for two NASCAR drivers to be taking vehicles back and forth, both claiming to have some sort of ownership of the property, one has to ask when it will end.
For now, the problems will potentially continue until litigation between Cobb, Novak and Harmon has been settled. In the meantime, we can only hope that the NASCAR community won’t be affected too badly.
