Every now and again, I happen to come across something really cool on the ole Internet. Since I’m a car guy, it stands to reason that it would be car related. This time, I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but my search led me to LS Classic, and man, do they have some really cool stuff.
The LS swap has taken the hobby by storm, but there are still those traditional die-hards that prefer the look of an old-school V8. That’s not a problem, as now you can have your swap and traditional looks too.
The first thing I noticed was the various intake/fuel delivery systems available, I couldn’t believe how cool – and traditional – they looked. If you like the appearance of a fuelie Vette intake – which also looks right at home in a Tri-five – they have an intake that mimics the original. Want a Tri-Power induction? Here it is. LS Classic has taken the modern engine and gave it traditional flair that will make the 21st century engine look right at home in any classic.
They have also created a program called Classic in a crate. The idea of this program is the LS Classic crew can help you pick out an engine and accessory pieces that will help make your project a success. The process starts with one of GM’s LS crate engines, which is then fitted with LS Classic components and electronics. This ensures a successful LS swap with component compatibility and functionality. They can source, paint, and assemble the pieces to create an engine to your specifications, and deliver a ready-to-bolt-in package that is complete with EFI and a start-up tune. This includes priming the oiling system and starting the engine on the company’s in-house run stand. Along with your engine you will also receive a video of your mill starting and running.
If you’ve been wanting to do an LS swap in your hot rod but prefer the look of a traditional V8, here’s your opportunity to have the best of both worlds. Check out LS Classic and get yours.
