When contributing writer, Chris Demorro shared with us a synopsis last November of Don Yenko’s last great super pony, the famed ’81 Turbo Z we realized that the second-generation of F-bodies, though not quite the 1st-Gens were still hot items at least within certain pools of collectors.
The cold, hard truth about 2nd-Gen Camaros is that they were the members of the F-body family that came about during a time when compression ratios were severely suffocated and factory pollution controls became the name of the game, the early ’80s.
But because 2nd-Gens still hold a certain sentimental value to the Bowtie world, there is still a very much existent market for parts and accessories specific to what is possibly one of the last great Camaro lineups to ever manifest. Legendary Auto Interiors of Newark, New York comes in and meet’s that market’s demands.

Currently they are seeking the help of you, the customer, and Legendary Auto wants to know if you can guide them to correctly color-match the vertical headband featured in the 2nd-Gens’ headrest. Currently, they are in search of any ’80 Berlinetta or Z28 with black, dark blue or oyster vinyl or cloth deluxe interior.
What they are in need of is a front seat top as a donor piece, and Legendary Auto promises that they will never mess with anybody’s upholstery as the purpose is solely for color-matching. Legendary Auto even promises to ship your seat top back to your front door with a gift certificate, yours to keep for your time and help.
Legendary Auto will also accept donors from the ’81 Berlinetta or Z28’s deluxe cloth or vinyl interior in red or silver, and if you’re interested in helping them in their search for a small slice of 2nd-Gen interior then make sure to contact Trista Wing (Twing@legendaryautointeriors.com) for more details on how you can contribute to the cause!
