Mark Faul is no stranger to the JEG’s All-Stars event. In fact, he’s participated in the All-Stars five times. But that’s not why he’s noteworthy. It’s because this year he won the event for the second year in a row behind the wheel of his ‘69 Chevelle. Thanks to K&N Air Filters, one of Faul’s sponsors, for bringing us the news of his latest accomplishment.
The JEG’s All-Stars event took place in Joliet, Illinois at the Route 66 Raceway. Faul won in the third round after being paired against Slate Cummings, another K&N sponsored racer. Both racers broke out in the third round, but Faul broke out by less- giving him the 2011 All-Stars title.
Faul told K&N that he felt he had a good chance against Cummings as long as he had a good reaction time and ran close to his dial-in. His prediction came true, despite the heat and humidity that racers had to battle at the event.
Faul expressed his excitement to K&N about his back-to-back win but must stay focused for his next event- a national race in Sonoma, California. After that, Faul will head back to his home state for the Seattle National. We look forward to hearing how Faul does in the rest of his events this season.
