The first generation Camaro is one of the most sought after muscle cars, whether its for its classic looks, reminiscent value or to make it into a street-eating muscle machine. What better classic car to create a fully revamped pro-touring car with than a 1967 Camaro- I can’t think of one. A current member on the Pro-Touring.com forum, going by the user name “Bobs 67Camaro,” seems to agree.
“Bobs 67Camaro,” or Bobby as fellow forum members call him, started his project with a 1967 Camaro SS with a 350 cubic-inch engine and GM 10-bolt rear end. The car has come along way from its original state, incorporating an L92 engine with plans for an LS-3 intake. The transmission has been upgraded to a 6L90e two-wheel drive transmission with a splined tail shaft. From the control arms to the gas tank, it looks like Bobby is fully upgrading his car.
While some things, such as the tranny pan and driveshaft, will have to be either modified from the upgraded part or specially made, it looks like the project is coming along nicely. Bobby is currently working on the rear suspension of the Camaro. He plans to have the car completely finished by the beginning of summer. It looks like he’s got his work cut out for him but we look forward to seeing the finished product of Bobby’s time and effort.
