Way back in June of 2020, we first announced that Fix-a-Flat was teaming with a couple of famous car builders and a few great manufacturers to build a great looking ’70 C10 truck to give away. At the time, the only real images we had were a computer-generated shot of the truck’s completed look and a few early disassembly shots.
We just got another email, and it turns out that a young lady named Danielle, from Texas, is now the proud owner of this newly rebuilt hauler. In case you forgot, Fix-a-Flat teamed up with Formula Drift drivers and automotive builders, Chris Forsberg and Dylan Hughes, to build and upgrade the truck utilizing parts from the Auto Zone Duralast brand and an Edelbrock Performer small-block Chevy 350 crate engine.
We’re told the truck was the recipient of a frame-off restoration. Once disassembled, the frame was powdercoated and the suspension and brakes were upgraded to heavy-duty C20 parts for better durability and braking power. All suspension and brake parts were rebuilt utilizing parts from Auto Zone.
The giveaway ran through August 14, 2020, and Danielle will be presented with the classic Fix-a-Flat yellow and white 1970 Chevy C10 at a giveaway celebration in October. “We are extremely satisfied with the enthusiasm the giveaway received,” says Chad Ellman, marketing manager for Fix-a-Flat. “The number of entrants and positive comments we received is a perfect way to celebrate Fix-a-Flat’s 50th year.”
Finally, to say Danielle is excited about her new-found hot hauler is an understatement. “Thank you kindly for the Fix-A-Flat Yellow 1970 Chevy C10. What a dream truck,” she exclaims. “I cannot believe I won. Thank you to AutoZone, Edelbrock, and all those that put so much time and effort into the restoration of this truck. Thank you to Chris Forsberg and Dylan Hughes for announcing that I’m the winner and proud new owner. I can’t wait to cruise around in this legendary truck.”
