Joel Rosen created the original Baldwin-Motion supercars in the 1960’s, so it only seems appropriate that he should be the first to take delivery of a new generation of Motion Camaros today.
Between 1967 and 1974, Rosen built and marketed new, ultra-high-performance 427 and 454 Camaros, Novas, Chevelles, Biscaynes and Corvettes through Baldwin Chevrolet. These days, he’s involved with Howard Tanner, of Redline Motorsports – builder of 2011 MOTION Camaros marketed by DeNooyer Chevrolet, Albany, NY.
Using GM crate engines and additional performance parts, the 800-horsepower Phase III 427-SC easily reaches into supercar performance territory. The supercharged GM LS7 427 aluminum engine uses a 2.8-Liter twin-screw supercharger with eight-rib drive assembly for maximum boost.
A custom Redline R3-SC blower camshaft, with high-capacity air intake system, upgraded fuel delivery system and custom calibrated Engine Management System all help to deliver the power, while maintaining reliability.
The driveline modifications begin with a Viper-spec TR6060 Six-Speed manual transmission, ZR1 Corvette dual disc clutch system and MGW short throw shifter. Rear axles capable of handling 1,000 hp replace the originals, while extensive chassis modifications from Pfadt Engineering are used. Brembo Monoblock brake calipers and 15-inch, two piece brake rotors are used throughout.
“Back in the day we built record-setting 500-horsepower big-block Camaros and backed them up with warranties. My new 427-SC delivers 300 more horsepower, imported Supercar handling and braking, plus incredible comfort and convenience features. And, it has a one-year, 12,000-mile warranty,” commented Rosen.
The contemporary line of of SS and Phase III 427 & 454 MOTION Camaros start at under $80,000, while the limited-edition 427-SC Camaro sells for $150,000. Additional information is available at the DeNooyer Chevrolet or Baldwin Motion web sites.
