If you are planning to be in the Tecumseh, Michigan, area on Saturday October 1, 2016, then you really need to make plans to join the folks of ididit as they celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary this year. Ididit is a leading suppler of steering components for hot rodders, and they want everyone to help them celebrate that fact in style, during their annual Car Show and Open House. That means you need to get that classic cruiser out of the garage and stop by the event that is occurring from 9 am to 3 pm at the company’s headquarters.
The first time ididit held this event was way back in 1991, and the no-charge event draws like-minded enthusiasts from all over Michigan, the surrounding states, and even Canada. In case you were wondering, Tecumseh is conveniently located within 25 minutes of Ann Arbor, 30 minutes from Jackson, 15 minutes from Dundee, and only 30 minutes from Toledo, Ohio. Unfortunately for you northern folks, this is probably the last chance for you to get those hot rods out of the garage and enjoy them before the winter hibernation season begins. In 2015, there were roughly 400 vehicles, and they are hoping to surpass that number this year.
While you’re at the event, you will also have the chance to tour the facility and see how some of their products are made. Ididit partnered with the Lenawee Country Humane Society again this year, and together, they will raffle a custom golf cart featuring an ididit steering column. All proceeds benefit the humane society, which provides shelter and medical care for stray and unwanted animals in Lenawee County.
The 2016 ididit Car Show & Open House is sure to be a top-notch event with vendor exhibits, the aforementioned custom golf cart giveaway, and many other surprises to help celebrate the company’s thirty years of designing and manufacturing some of the industry’s best steering components.
The folks at ididit also tell us that the crew from the Dustless Blasting Car Show will be on location shooting an episode for MAVTV and REV’N. Again, the event is free for everyone to attend, and is planned to take place rain or shine.
Since 1991, this annual car show and facility open house has succeeded in bringing hot rodders together to celebrate the history, beauty, and diversity of all classic cars and trucks. There will also be award winners in seven categories at the end of the show. Participants with street rods, classic/restored cars, trucks, custom “lead sleds,” musclecars, and hot rods all have a chance at winning an award. Attendees and exhibitors can take the time to speak to aftermarket vendors, including Eaton Detroit Spring, American Speed, Woodward Fab, Classic Instruments, and more.
The small town of Tecumseh, also gets involved by promoting the “I Buy Nearby” event. This affords everyone in the Tecumseh area the chance to shop for deals while supporting downtown Tecumseh. If you have other plans for October 1st, change them. This is going to be a great show.
