Batman has been an inspiration to teenage boys, comic book writers, script writers and Hollywood producers for over 70 years now. And while there is an arsenal of Bat-gadgets to choose from, one thing keeps getting cooler and cooler; the Batmobile. Legions of fans have undertaken the task of creating their own Batmobile, whether it’s a dead-on replica from the original TV series or an actual turbine-powered jet car. Some people just take the Batman influence, and apply it to their cars in subtle (or outrageous) ways.
We have to assume that Batman in someway influenced this custom creation that Carscoop came across while scouring eBay. It used to be a 1984 Chevy Camaro, before 13 years of customization changed it into something almost completely unrecognizable.
Actually, according to the eBay listing, the “styling” was influenced by a crouching “sphinx-like create” with a roof that is like a “bat ray with an eagle head.” Uh huh. If you say so. It’s not our place to question why someone designs their car the way they do, only to ask “WTF Mate?” This is seriously a bizarre creation, a car we don’t expect we’ll ever be able to forget, even if we wanted to. Just look at those headers!
Yet it is also a testament to the capabilities of one person who puts their mind to something, and accomplishes it…even if the end result took over a dozen years, and it looks more like a Hot Wheels car than anything we’d expect to see at a car show. But that is what is so great about the car hobby, damnit. You can do whatever you want to your car, the rest of us be damned, and then put it up on eBay and maybe even make a buck or two. God Bless America.
