We love the body style of the little 68-72 Nova’s, and this one on eBay would be a great one to buy and drive as-is or to turn into a full out track car. According to the listing it’s a true factory SS car and comes with the Factory Build Sheet, Protect-O Plate, Owner’s Manual, and sales records to prove it! It was originally equipped with an L-48 350 small block, a Muncie M-20 4-Speed, and a 3.42 Posi unit.
The motor was recently updated with a different 350 with a mild cam, and the rear end received a taller 3.73 gear. Power steering bas been added as well.
Believe it or not, the paint is not the factory color but is instead a shade of orange metallic from a 2006 Nissan Armada. You could have fooled us as we think that it looks pretty “GMish!”
What we like best about this generation of Nova is that it’s still small, and in today’s day and age it’s possible to get just about anything and everything performance wise to make is a corner carver or a straight line hero.
In fact, our own “Project Swinger” is a ’71 Nova that has received mod after mod in our shop. Some people think of the Nova as a poor-man’s Camaro, but not us. We know that they’re just little gems in plain brown wrappers!
