With all of the rage that is known as Pro Touring these days, sometimes it’s nice to feature a nice little resto mod that looks a lot like what most of us would build in our garage. Well, technically this little ’66 Nova may be a lot nicer that that, but it’s still too cool not to share! We found it over on eBay and the good news for you that may fall in love with it is that it’s still available since it’s reserve price of $38,500 was not met.
This Nova is a real factory 4-Speed SS car and has just undergone a full rotisserie restoration. The fantastically straight sheetmetal is topped off with a coat of Marina Blue and clear, and the paint theme continues under the car as well! Under the hood is is a 350 horsepower 327 mill that built to L-79 specs, which was the hottest version available in ’66. It has trick exhaust with header cutout servos to allow the driver to open up the headers with just the flick of a switch.
The 4-speed is a close ratio Muncie M-21 4-speed, actuated by a hydraulic clutch setup for drivability’s sake. The factory front suspension is likely the biggest modification to the car as the factory setup is long gone and was replaced by a full front clip from Heidts with coil overs and disc brakes. The classic looking 17″ Torque Thrusts wheels all around finish off the package!
