eBay Find of the Day: Blown Mouse-Powered ’30 Ford Model A Sedan

Building a hot rod is likely one of the most personal projects that anyone could choose which has its better and worse points as a result. On the better side, you are totally free to pick and choose the direction you want to pursue, as well as how you’re going to implement it. The possibilities are endless, even before starting to talk about combining the better of two genres.

On the daunting side is the fact that possibilities are endless, even before starting to talk about combining the better of two genres. For some people, ultimate freedom is a greater nightmare than anyone could imagine. Thank goodness they don’t build too many hot rods.

When it comes to bending the rules, some builders, such as the one responsible for the current 1930 Ford Model A Sedan, can skillfully combine the best of two schools of thought without losing focus. Such is the case here, where this Model A could barely be called a rat rod. Yet, if attitude is what defines such a project, this one has it in spades.

Once the body was chopped by four inches and then channeled by the same amount, it was ready for mounting on the completely refurbished frame. Only the frame rails were reused after boxing in and setting up to accept the Chevy V8 engine with B&M Turbo 400 transmission. The built engine was designed for the Weiand 6-71 blower that sits proudly on top. You’ll never be able to convince the police that this is your grandmother’s car.

The list of modifications and high end components that went into this build is amazing… far too much to cover line by line here. You should check out the eBay listing to see it all. Now for the bad news. The car is sold, and for a winning bid of $16,100, which is a steal for the apparent quality in this car.

Call this a rat rod if you want, but we call it a top flight bargain!
