ebay Find of the Day: ’76 Laguna S3

Coming hot off the tail of the neglected ‘76 Laguna S3 from last week, we bring you this “restored” example out of Henderson, Nevada. We use the term “restored” lightly, as we are merely quoting the seller’s description of the car.

What he refers to as a restored example, the rest of us might call a decent driver, as the paint (though decent), is far from show quality, and the seller admits it has a few “minor chips” on the front bumper.

Also on the outside of the car are a set of Keystone Classic wheels wrapped in BFG Radial T/A tires -and according to the last time we’ve checked, weren’t factory options.

The interior isn’t too bad, but the dash, clearly, has more cracks in it than the San Andreas vault, and one can only wonder what lies beneath that carpeted dash mat.

A plus about the cabin are the optional Strato swivel-bucket seats, which are in good shape, the factory issue and novel “fuel economy” gauge (which realistically, tells you absolutely nothing), factory A/C,  cruise control, and power windows (that are a little slow at operating).

It also has an aftermarket set of speakers, and JVC head unit that we’re fairly certain wasn’t installed in the ‘Guna in ’76, but they are excellent for blasting bump, apparently.

But some of the things that we did find somewhat impressing are the supposed matching numbers and low-mileage; claiming an original 59.7k miles on the freshly rebuilt 350 and transmission.

The seller does go on to say the car doesn’t leak anything and that it rides and drives like it’s brand new.

However, after viewing the attached in-car video, we would like to say the suspension could use a bit of work.

But with adequately-supplied contact information, a clear title, and available to you now at no reserve, we think this could be indeed a very decent deal on a soon-to-be-classic!
