We found this really cool ’62 Chevy Impala over on eBay restored to look like an old nostalgic super stocker. It reminds us of an era when Butch Leal and Dyno Don Nicholson used to race these old Super Stockers. These early drag cars had one of a kind paint schemes like the old World War II fighter planes had, along with their own nick name.
This Chevy is no exception, having been titled “Gorilla Milk” and loaded up with vintage billboard style decals like the early stockers sometimes were. It is a very nice example that can be driven easily.
The engine bay houses a mild 383 stroker motor built from a 4-bolt main block and has a hydraulic cam, 2.02 valve heads topped off by a vintage correct dual quad intake and, matching Edelbrock carburetors and of course early Mickey Thompson valve covers. And we cant forget the Muncie 4-speed that sends power to a 4:56 geared posi rear end.
The interior was very tastefully done with the old school 3 point roll bar and vintage gauges. Its just the right combination of the right colors, selection of parts and and restored to make you feel like you went back in time to relive the Gasser Wars of the ’60s.
