While we often look back with much nostalgia on the hot rodders and rides of yesteryear, but it isn’t because todays tuners and builders lack skill. Instead, we’d argue that there are almost too many high-skilled automotive customizers, so much so that it can be hard to raise one builder over another. Even so, there are those who have made a name for themselves doing some truly incredible custom cars that would be impossible to replicate.

One of the foremost rod shops in America is Rad Rides by Troy. This shop, led by Troy Trapanier, has produced some amazing, award-winning rides, and one of the most famous isn’t a ‘32 Ford, Camaro, or HEMI ‘Cuda. Rather, its a gorgeous 1966 Chevy Biscaynne called “The Hurricane,” and this car is now up for grabs on eBay for a call $200,000. Why so much? Read on to find out.

If that sounds expensive, get this; the build cost an estimated $500,000, and that money went towards some pretty incredible components. Among them is the personal aluminum ZL1 engine block owned by the late John Lingenfelter. The 540ci. big-block makes about 659 horsepower. 2-inch headers, a 3-inch exhaust and a sexy custom air filter are just a few of the eye-popping achievements found under the hood.

Backing this monster motor up is a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. The suspension features massive Baer brakes and a Detroit Speed coil-over suspension setup. The wheels are unique, as is the 8-point rollcage with a built-in radar detector. From front to back, the Hurricane is an incredible car…and it can be yours for the price of a 3-bedroom home.
