A new year means new projects. If you don’t already have a car that you’re working on, we found an eBay lot that might just offer you the perfect project. A rather sound ’67 Chevy Impala convertible is currently available with no reserve on the auction site, and you know what that means. A low, low price! While it’s not a Super Sport or a completely original vehicle, this Impala has plenty to offer and for a price of less than $6,000, you won’t find much better.
The ’67 Impala was originally equipped with a 327cui engine but has since seen a 350cui V8 swap with only 18,000 miles currently on the odometer. The small block is matted to a Power Glide automatic transmission for smooth shifting. Equipped with its original power brake and steering systems, the Impala convertible also features a power convertible top, dual exhaust system and all original shaded soft ray glass. According to the eBay lot, this car runs and drives without issue.
Adding to the Impala’s condition is its original Bolero Red exterior paint and parchment imitation leather interior. Complete with working gauges and an updated AM/FM cassette stereo, the interior is free of damage and is fit for the classic it completes. With everything down to the blinkers and wiper blade motors working, it is fair to say that this Impala is a solid 45-year-old car.
Just like any project car, this Impala does need some work, however. The convertible top has been patched but will need to be replaced for it to be usable in inclement weather. The metal below the body line will also need some work for holes and rust spots to be repaired.
If you’ve ever bought a project car, the few things wrong with this car are minor in comparison. While this Impala could be left as it is, it also makes for a fine base for a pro-touring, restoration or big-block build project.
Currently, the Impala is being sold without a reserve, which leaves room for one hell of a deal. With 17 bids, this lot is only up to $5,300, a steal compared to what you’re getting. If you’re interested in this car, you only have until January 6th to make the winning offer.
