If the devil went down to eBay and he was lookin’ for a Chevelle to steal,
Would he be blind by the blower whine and be willing to make a deal?
According to the seller, “…it turns out that the devil is a street racer and seems to prefer Chevelles.”
This 1967 Chevrolet certainly looks like the machine you’d want to drive down the highway to Hell with its towering Mount Doom-like blower casting a shadow over the roof. The realistic flames look like they were scorched on while blasting through the underworld.
Here lays a body that was straightened, smoothed, and buffed to ensure that the heavy metal underneath would lend itself nicely to its black-hearted paint job. The only non-original panel on the Chevelle is the cowl induction hood which was forged from the souls of 1000 harrowed Civics.
Edelbrock carburetors. Mostly everything under the hood is black or carbon fiber. The owner left no headstone unturned by painting the valve covers and blower pulley to match the overall theme of the car.
Even that mighty four-inch cowl cannot contain the ferocious 383 stroker that has possessed the engine compartment. The owner’s dream was to build an outrageous monster whose engine would tower over the roof. That was accomplished with a blower and dual four barrelGet inside this street car and it feels like you’re ready to blast down the track. The racing seats and 6 point cage are there for strength and safety but don’t get in the way. The back seat is still there as well as the original dash but the radio has been removed in favor of the cacophony of the side pipes. Adding to the beastly feel are a fuel cell and a battery box in the trunk barely leaving enough room for any bodies. Lighting-like shifts are provided by a Hurst 4 speed.
They say the devil is in the details but it seems that the underside of this Chevelle still needs a few prayers. The suspension is fairly stock and the chassis looks untouched but the Chevelle does have a nasty rake and looks evil on those black 20 inch Valente wheels.
This Chevelle probably isn’t the car for a quiet Sunday drive with the family but it would be one hell of a car for any tortured soul to release on the streets! See how much this Chevelle sells for by checking out the eBay listing!
