For those of you with Impalas and Full Size Chevys who have been patiently waiting for updated gauges, your wait is over. Dakota Digital, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota officially released gauges for the 1965 Impalas.
While Dakota Digital got their roots in the digital gauge market, they have started making another line called “VHX.” These gauges feature a traditional needle style function but are far from traditional. The gauges are 100% brand new with solid state sensors and precision stepper motors.
Features of the VHX Gauges:
- Utilizes either a stock or aftermarket wiring harness
- Stock, modified or late model drivetrains
- Red, white or blue lighted display
- Satin silver or black alloy style face
- Limited lifetime warranty
- Complete tech support
- Made in the USA!

Another great feature of all the VHX gauges is the addition of expansion modules. This will allow the VHX gauges to display things like a compass, outside air temperature, air bag pressures, oil/trans temperature, etc. If you want to keep the vitals on your Impala, they have the tools to get you covered!
Built into the VHX gauges from the factory there is a lot of neat features. Things such a 1/4 mile time, high speed, 0-60 second time, adjustable warning indicators, adjustable shift light, etc. There is also a ‘display mode’ that allows you to show off the gauges at a show. This makes all the needles move back and forth in sync.
But what if you have a ’66 Impala? Dakota Digital assured us that right behind the ’65 Impalas the ’66, ’67’, ’68, ‘69070, ’71-76 and ’77-90 models will be available. The ’59 to ’64 VHX gauges for Impala are already available on the Dakota Digital website.
