Crazy Unique Pro-Street Camaro Set to Hit the Mecum Stage in July

The perfect build is in the eye of the beholder, but sometimes we come across a car that is so unique, we can’t quite wrap our heads around it. Such is the case with this first-generation Camaro set to hit the stage at Mecum’s Harrisburg, Pennsylvania auction in July. A true power-house, this unique build takes pro-street to a whole new level.

Pro-street cars are supposed to be loud in both sound and character, but this hybrid ’69 Camaro convertible may be over the top even for pro-street standards.

Featuring a typical pro-street style blower sticking out of the hood, this Camaro is powered by a 540ci engine from Beck Racing Engines tied to a custom TCI transmission with overdrive from Gear Vendors. This combination gives the car an amazing 800hp and 1200 lb-ft of torque.

Underneath, you’ll find a full Art Morrison chassis and suspension system tied to custom 19-inch Boze alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires in the front and 20×12-inch wheels wrapped in wide 335 rubber in the back. The car also makes use of Borgeson stainless steel U-joints and a stainless steel column shaft.

Giving the car its unique look are fully smoothed body panels, complete with shaved door handles and rear trunk lock. The smoothed body is topped off with expertly laid Gloss Black paint with intricate polished aluminum, carbon fiber and chrome accents.

Inside, the car is just as unique, featuring a one-off custom steering wheel attached to an ididit steering column, custom steel dash with carbon fiber gauges from Auto Meter, and a custom center console fitted with a carbon fiber B&M shifter. Other interior amentities include a remote starter, push-button door latches and a touch-screen DVD player.
