Most of the time 70’s vans bring back memories of cheesy customization like fish tanks and disco balls. Or some creepy guy that’s up to no good. However, this van on Craigslist caught our eye for all the right reasons.
First off the van is a classic. This shaggin’ wagon is a 1975 G10 Shorty Panel van with a 110″ wheelbase. That makes it a little more unusual and for the better. By far the biggest eye grabbing thing about this van is the bright red paint job and Yenko style markings on it.
Great Yenko styling sets this van apart from others
Yenko was a dealership in Pennsylvania that took stock cars and modified them in the 1960’s and 1970’s. A few things that Yenko did was upgrade the engines and graphics. This owner did add the side stripes, the van is still powered by the factory 350. Real Yenko cars had an “SC” on the graphics designating Super Car, but this owner changed it up to “SV” for Super Van.
We couldn’t agree more.
Other upgrades on the van include a slew of new parts for the van: upholstery, two stage paint, chrome, brakes, radiator and an overall tune up. Our favorite upgrade is the chrome side pipes. The big, long, chrome side pipes just scream awesomeness and will scare away most small animals. This G10 van looks better than it did coming off the factory line.
Ready to haul a BBC, a box of nails, or your treasure
We think this is one cool van that you could have a lot of fun in. With the back having no seats and a linoleum floor, we imagine this would be a great van to take to swap meets, Home Depot or haul whatever else you can think of. Or throw some seats in the back and have the coolest soccer mom vehicle. Then again, with the wood linoleum flooring, you could add a disco ball and have yourself a dance-off. No matter what you just can’t go wrong with this van.
