Some people like to go to malls and window shop, but we like to go on Craigslist and see the latest cars for sale. We are always on the hunt for that ultra rare barn find, with a low asking price. Although, we probably have a better chance at winning the lottery. On our never ending hunt we do come across some pretty sweet cars for sale.
We spotted this super clean 1970 Nova for sale, that’s an original SS 396 car. The engine was upgraded to a ZZ 427 cubic inch with 430 horsepower. Other modifications include dual Edelbrock carbs with some type of cold air induction, Hedman Hedders, and a 125 amp alternator, all backed by a TKO600 Tremec five speed. Sounds like an absolute rocket to us!
The rearend was upgraded to handle the power as well with a Moser unit inside the factory 12 bolt set up. There is all new wiring through out the car from Painless and an upgraded Be-Cool radiator set up. Four wheel disc brakes help this car come to an abrupt halt. The brakes are surrounded by polished American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels; a classic choice.
The body appears to be solid and straight as well, with a nice vinyl top on the roof. The hood is the original SS steel hood as well, a nice touch for sure. We love how the dark blue color really sets off the polished American Racing wheels.
No matter how nice this car is, the price has to be just right. The owner is asking $36,900 for the complete car. He says that he has over $75,000 invested in the car, which we don’t doubt. The asking price is only a hair over 50% of the invested amount. Is the asking price worth it? We say yes, but you be the judge. Check out the Craiglist ad!
