You know that old Tri-Five Chevy you’ve been meaning to restore? Maybe, it just needs a complete drivetrain to get it back on the road or a modern update just to keep the dream alive. Whatever the case may be, what’s for sure is Pace Performance’s Connect & Cruise Package for Tri-five Chevys. It’s the most complete, late-model drivetrain package available, ever! And will swap directly into your Tri-five frame. Without a doubt, you won’t be able to locate another drivetrain package as thorough as this under one part number.
To further solidify their mark, Pace is now setting the bar, again with the Tri-five enthusiast with the LS3 Connect & Cruise Package for ’55-57 Chevys. Each package includes the same engine found in most late-model Corvettes and Camaro’s and backs it up with the bulletproof 4L65E overdrive transmission. To make the swap easy, Pace also includes the engine controller, torque converter, transmission controller, install kit and the complete transmission swap mount kit as well! One Pace Performance part number gets you all of this plus, a 3-year/100,000 mile parts and labor warranty and now even includes a $500 rebate with your purchase.
If you’re fortunate to own one of the most iconic Chevrolet’s the General ever produced, you’ve not only got great taste when it comes to vehicles but you’re probably no dummy when it comes to the aftermarket performance world. In most cases, you’re a seasoned enthusiast on top of the game. You’re a stickler for fine details, a respected individual in the hot rodding community and desire only the best, top-notch components for your dream machine.
Engine
The Pace Performance LS3 is a Chevrolet performance purebred and relies on engineering breakthroughs with revised cylinder heads featuring rectangle exhaust ports, borrowed from the Z06 LS7 family of engines.
The top end is just as amazing as the package itself. Breathing is further enhanced through large, 63cc combustion chambers housing 2.16-inch/1.59 intake/exhaust valves. Of course it’s all contingent on a potent bump ‘stick. Camshaft of choice is an aggressive, 0.551-inch lift hydraulic roller complimented with a set of 1.7:1 roller rockers.
The LS3’s foundation begins with an all-aluminum 6-bolt main block, featuring 4.06-inch bores and a long-legged, 3.62 inches of stroke (6.2L 376ci.). Inside, a nodular iron crankshaft swings powdered metal rods and aluminum slugs for 10.7:1 compression. Yeah, it runs on pump gas, too. All said and done, this mill kicks out 430hp at 5,900 RPM and 424 ft-lb of twist at 4,600 RPM and will spin to 6,600 RPM.
Transmission
Creating an all-in-one package for Tri-five Chevys, Pace Performance also adds in the 4L65E overdrive transmission. Each 4L65E transmission isn’t your average slushbox either. These brand-new units included in the Connect & Cruise Package include heavy duty upgrades, including 5-pinion gearsets, heat-treated stator shaft spines and a seven-plate clutch pack. What’s more, the output shaft has been shot peened for durability and the valve body has a revised calibration for efficient operation.
Gear ratios:
- 1st- 3.06
- 2nd- 1.62
- 3rd- 1.00
- 4th- .070
For easy installation, Pace also supplies all the necessary components and hardware necessary for a simple swap. Pace adds in the transmission controller, install kit and even the engine and transmission swap mount kit. These specially calibrated controllers are designed for retrofit installation for an easy and quick installation into your restored Chevy.
Just like purchasing a new vehicle from your local dealership, Pace offers a warranty. To back it all up, Pace Performance even includes GM’s Nationwide, 3-year/100,000-mile parts and labor warranty. Could it get any easier than this?
