With the Woodward Dream Cruise coming up this weekend, and Chevrolet’s centennial anniversary events already underway, there are sure to be muscle cars galore cruising the streets in the Detroit area. To help event goers distinguish some notable Chevys from other muscle cars, GM News decided to publish a “Spotter’s Guide” for Chevys that might be at this weekend’s events. While many cruisers may be familiar with some in the guide, other modern Chevys may not be as easy for them to pick out.

From the 1950s to present-day Chevys, the Spotter’s Guide gives a bit of background on the 10 cars listed as well as some tips to identify them in a crowd. The notable Chevy’s in the guide include a ‘55 Bel Air convertible, ‘57 Bel Air Sport Coupe, ‘59 El Camino, ‘62 Bel Air “bubble top” 409, ‘63 Corvette Split-window Sting Ray, ‘69 Camaro, ‘70 Chevelle SS 454, ‘93 Camaro Z28, and the ‘12 Camaro ZL1. The only real surprising Chevy on the list is the ‘11 Volt, but there will be Volts on display and in parades for this weekend’s festivities.

So if you’re not quite schooled on notable Chevys that could be at the Dream Cruise, head over to GM News and get your Spotter’s Guide. Even if you know your Chevys, the information on the cars included in the guide is interesting and can make the Cruise even more historic for you and your family.
