It’s natural to find yourself envious of other people’s creations in the automotive world, but Mark and Diane Morgan are taking that theory to a whole new level- naming their gorgeous custom Chevy II Envious. This all has due cause, however, as the Chris Alston’s Chassisworks-equipped ‘67 Chevy is sure to be the envy of anyone who sees it.

Built from the Chassiworks 4×2 Street Machine front and ProStreet 4-link rear chassis pieces, Envious is one mighty pro-touring beast sure to be the envy of everyone that comes across it.
Built primarily by the Morgans in their own garage, with the help of some friends, this Synergy Green Chevy II is ripe for the picking. Completely fabricated by Mark Morgan, the Chevy II features a Chassisworks 4×2 rail Street Machine chassis, which Mark had fixture-welded with the front suspension stub straight from the manufacturing facility, and a Chassisworks ProStreet 4-link rear. Suspension components fitted to that chassis include a Chassisworks FAB 9 rearend and VariShock QS1 coilovers on all four corners. The A-arms and rack were painted to match the car’s exterior.
From there, Mark removed the floors of his Chevy II and channeled the body to make it fit perfectly over the new performance chassis.
Keeping with the modification theme, the Morgans removed pretty much every body panel from the car, repairing some for rust damage and modifying others. In doing so, the rear quarters were stretched, cowl panel filled, drip rails and door handles shaved, and both the front and rear glass flush mounted, leaving just the roof untouched.
On top of the fabrication, Mark also handled all the body work on the car with the help of friend Jeff Campbell of Olney, Illinois. It was Olney that laid the Chevy Synergy Green color over the completed Chevy II.
Powering this beast is a carbureted 502ci GM crate engine, also treated to some Chassisworks fun in the form of motor mount stands and billet aluminum motor mounts. The engine is placed in front of two forward firewalls complete with a tubular structure that holds the front struts inside.
Backing the big block is a 700R4 automatic transmission, which feeds as much power to the Weld Pro-Star wheels as possible. Braking power is supplied by Wilwood Dynalite brakes on front and rear.
After four years and a half years of work, Envious made its debut at the 2012 St. Louis Super Chevy Show. There, the car won for Best Paint and then Best Nova from all of the 2012 Super Chevy shows.
Congratulations goes out to Mark and Diane Morgan for their amazingly gorgeous ride, and to Chassisworks for being such a major part of this fantastic build!
