The annual GM Nationals at Carlisle are coming up this month and this bowtie fest just keeps getting better every year. Among the special guests attending this time around are Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, Bruce Larson, Sam Auxier, Jr., Bryan Fuller, Kenny Youngblood, David Snyder and J.D Sarantakos.

You’ll have the chance to get up close with these luminaries during scheduled autograph and Meet ‘n Greet sessions. As well, new prize money has been announced for those showing their cars, with a $1,000 Best of Show award open to any GM car, as well as $500 prizes for the best in each generation of Chevrolet Camaro.

You can head out Friday night for some drag racing a the local track, or hang around for events like the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow, the Vintage Certification program, live band music on Saturday, a taping of the Lokar Car Show, Carlisle’s own version of Cacklefest and chances to win an LS small block engine from Gardner Competition Engines or a 1975 Cosworth Vega, courtesy of Carlisle Events.

If that doesn’t keep you occupied, there are also test drives from Chevrolet; indoor displays of concept cars, customs, high performance and historic vehicles; activities for the kids; as well as vehicle and engine giveaways. There is also an extensive variety of top quality vendors, an all-GM car corral and the Manufacturers Midway vending area. Did we mention the burnout contest, the Women’s Oasis, the mobile chassis dyno or the seminars?
