You guys on the West Coast have the perfect atmosphere for car shows and cruising. It is always sunny, and there are classic cars and hot rods everywhere. That’s why the Greater Ontario Convention Center is putting together the Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion.
Route 66 is often referred to as The Mother Road, and the historic stretch of highway that is roughly 40 miles East of Los Angeles becomes cruisin’ central on September 21 and 22, 2018. This spectacular family-friendly event is free to attend, and they are expecting more than 1,000 amazing classic cars. This unique event affords participants the opportunity to do more than just park their cars and sit in a lawn chair. Registered participants can actually cruise up and down what is now the tree-lined Euclid Avenue. During this two-day car show, those in attendance can hear V8 muscle, and almost feel the street shake with the grunt and growl of muscle cars and hot rods. What better way to spend a weekend.
Each year, the Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion is organized by the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau that is dedicated to creating events like this and promoting the region. This year’s event features not only cruising hot rods, but contests, live music, and food vendors covering more than 22 square blocks of downtown Ontario.
Last year’s estimate was close to 100,000 family-friendly show goers throughout the weekend. If last year is any indication, don’t plan on spending too much time in your hotel, as the party went on day and night. Official hours are Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. and Saturday activities begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at Midnight.
