TMI Products has officially announced the third winner of its 2025 TRIM Road Tour, and it’s a build that stops you in your tracks. At the 27th Summit Racing Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, John Wargo and his shop, The Custom Shop, took home top honors with their 1969 Camaro known as “DSTROYR.” This award-winning entry now joins the elite group of finalists in the running for the grand prize at the 2025 TMI TRIM Awards during the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Camaro Craftsmanship At Its Finest
Wargo’s Camaro isn’t just another F-body with flashy paint and horsepower. It’s a comprehensive build that blends show-level styling with serious performance, built to impress on every level. Sprayed in House of Kolor Pro Spray Gray with custom graphics and a bold orange racing stripe, the exterior sets the tone for what lies beneath.
Under the hood, the Camaro sports a 427ci LSX small-block V-8 that punches out a stout 780 horsepower. The engine bay mirrors the body graphics with custom detailing that ties the entire build together. It sits on a Fast Track chassis from Roadster Shop, with custom-painted Boze wheels featuring black spokes and orange lips that echo the interior color palette.
Tailored Interior With TMI Detail
Inside, the Camaro shows why it was a standout at the TRIM Road Tour. Wargo equipped the car with TMI’s Pro Series Low-Back Seats wrapped in vibrant orange Apex Leather. The custom one-off insert design and floating headrest system add a level of refinement rarely seen in builds of this caliber. Rather than being attached directly to the seats, the floating headrests are integrated with the roll cage, offering an uninterrupted view of the custom rear seat delete and subwoofer enclosure.
This attention to detail, from the visual alignment of colors to the thoughtful execution of one-off interior elements, is precisely what TMI looks for in their top award contenders. It’s not just about having their products installed; it’s about how builders creatively integrate them into a cohesive design.
What’s Next On The Road Tour
Wargo’s win at the Goodguys Nationals marks the third of five total selections for the 2025 TRIM Road Tour. Each winner is automatically entered into the championship round, where they’ll compete for a premium prize package: a Top 20 finalist spot in the TMI Products TRIM Awards, a featured parking space at the SEMA Show, a pass to the show itself, and a five-night hotel stay during the event, happening November 4–7, 2025.
Two more opportunities remain for builders to qualify. The final stops are:
-
TMI Cars & Clearance in Corona, California, on August 16, 2025
-
Triple Crown of Rodding in Nashville, Tennessee, on September 5–6, 2025
If you’re building with TMI and have a show-quality vehicle ready for spotlight status, now is your chance. Vehicles can be submitted online and added to the judging roster for either of the remaining events.
