Behind RideTech’s First Generation Camaro Front Suspension

Many of you may have seen the 48 Hour Camaro Build, for those of you that didn’t, we wanted to show you what Ridetech installed on the front of the 48 hour Camaro and what they have to offer for your 1st generation Camaro. The components they installed drastically improved the handling and wheel and tire fitment on the front of the ’67 Camaro.

Ridetech started with their StrongArms tubular upper and lower control arms that are designed with more caster adjustment, and allowance for a tighter turning radius. Their upper and lower control arms are engineered for maximum performance over your stock stamped steel arms, and Ridetech’s strong relationship with Moog Automotive, means they come with Moog ball joints installed.

Ridetech spindles helped cure the ill handling characteristics of the early Camaro, by eliminating the bump steer and geometry  problems associated with the stock spindles, as their spindles have a 1.75″ taller steering arm and the spindle pin location is 2″ higher which automatically lowers the car 2 inches when installed.

Bump steer is almost non existent (.050″ in a full 5 inches of travel), when used in combination with their new center link bracket. Tire size that was limited to a 15×7″ inch wheel, but can now go up to 18×10″ up front with a 275/35-18″ tire.

Ridetech offers their patented Shockwave  fully adjustable air ride shocks, they are  available in single, double, and triple adjustable just like the ones they installed on the 48 Hour Camaro. The shocks offer 36 rebound adjustments and 24 compression adjustments, and they can be set to give you any ride height you desire, even lowering the car to the ground when parked.

Shockwave’s constructed out of billet aluminum and the best components available, which means you will get the best when it comes to suspension components. Before you upgrade your 1st Gen Camaro, or any other vehicle you have, check with the guys at Ridetech for the best there is in air ride technology.
