Just when you thought the California-based fastener company has put together every conceivable head stud kit, ARP releases another new kit for big-block Chevys.
Big-block Chevys (BBC) have always been popular to enthusiasts, and Chevy fans in particular. As with most technology, things change on a daily basis and the automotive aftermarket is no different. New cylinder head configurations and engine block designs are being introduced on an ongoing basis.
ARP currently has more than 80 head-stud kits to cover the myriad of BBC block/head combinations, yet they strive to cover the many new offerings. Now, they are introducing kits designed for use with Dart Pro 20-degree, Edelbrock Big Victor 12-degree, and Big Victor 24-degree aluminum cylinder heads.
Manufactured from premium-grade 8740 steel and heat-treated to 190,000 psi tensile strength, they are ideally suited for many engine combinations. The threads are rolled (click here for our recent article on thread rolling) following heat-treat, and ARP claims these fasteners have 10-times better fatigue life than studs made through ordinary methods.
Like all ARP fasteners, they are totally manufactured in-house, at the company’s California facilities, to the industry’s most stringent standards. Founded in 1968, ARP remains family-owned and operated.
