Add Your LS-Powered Vehicle To MSD’s Facebook Page

Net’s ’67 Nova has a clean LS conversion and is equipped with an MSD starter and Super Conductor plug wires.

MSD has a great Facebook page where you can post pictures and a description of your car. We went through it and at the time we looked, there were 145 cars and trucks posted to the page.

Brett Strawser’s C6 Z06 has an Atomic AirForce Intake Manifold, 1 7/8-inch Kooks long-tube headers, an off-road X-pipe, Corsa mufflers, and ported and polished LS7 280cc cylinder heads. There is also a Nick Williams 102mm throttle body and a Vararam cold air intake. The car makes 630 rear-wheel horsepower.

The variety is really something. There are GMs, Fords, Mopars, and other makes from all over the world. Some of the more interesting builds are from the down-under nations of Australia and New Zealand. We also did a quick cursory count of the LS-powered vehicles on the page and came up with about 15 or so.

Which means if you have an interesting LS-swap project or a vehicle originally LS-equipped, then post it up there. We need to represent as best as we can for what many consider to be the best pushrod V-8 engine of all time.

For now, have a look at the LS-powered cars we found on the page. The variety is impressive and that diversity is sure to grow.

Vincent Moore’s LS-powered ’67 Chevelle is a great example of a GM A-body car with modern LS motivation.

Top left: Adrian Martinez’s ’67 Nova SS has an LS3 416-inch stroker motor. It has MSD wires and will soon get a coil relocation. Top right: Built by Metalworks in Eugene, Oregon, this ’68 GTO is the in-house shop car. It has an LS3 with MSD Atomic EFI and MSD coils. Bottom right: Chris Shawver might upset a few Mopar guys with his ’69 Barracuda that’s powered by an LS2 with a mild cam and an MSD intake. The drivetrain includes a GM 4L60-E four-speed automatic, a 3000-rpm-stall-speed TCI torque converter, and 3.90 gears in the 8 3/4-inch rearend. QA1 suspension bits make it handle. Bottom left: We dig this ’70 Nova with its carbureted 6.0-liter LS1 equipped with LS3 heads. It puts 462 horsepower to the wheels through a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual and a 3.89-geared Ford 9 inch. Jeffrey Wyatt Harris is the owner/builder.

Top left: John Aldrich’s ’68 Chevelle has a carbureted LS1 with an MSD 6LS controller system. Top right: Brien Laswell’s 4th-gen Trans Am has an MSD Atomic AirForce Intake on its LS1. Bottom: Built by Cantu Racing and tuned by JMS Performance, owner Chris Ritchie’s C6 Vette has a 427 LSX, an MSD Atomic Air Force intake, a Fore innovations triple-pump E85 UPP twin-61mm turbo system, FIC2150 injectors, full exhaust, and an Eboost-2 boost controller. The stock drivetrain, Lg spindles, and 15-inch bead lock wheels put 1104 horsepower to the ground.

Top: Left and center: James McGuinness’s ’70 Chevelle has MSD’s Atomic LS EFI on a turbo 5.3-liter LS and has run a 10.76 at 127 mph. James did all the fabrication, fuel system and engine work himself. The 5.3’s mods are minimal and include a turbo-friendly cam, a modified top-ring gap, upgraded valve springs, LS9 head gaskets, and LS9 head studs. The car also runs an MSD Atomic TCM trans controller on a rebuilt 4L80E. Right: Owner and builder James says, 'I’m using the MSD Atomic EFI, coils, wires, starter, alternator, trans controller, and when available the new intake for the ’54 Chevy’s twin-turbo LS motor. Great products and fantastic people behind it.' Take a look at boosted54.com for more on this build. Bottom: Left: Mike Losh built this ’87 blazer for his wife and it was on display at the 2013 SEMA Show. It runs a 5.3-liter LQ7 with an MSD Atomic LS controller. Center: Justin Everhart’s ’88 S-10 Blazer has 5.3-liter LQ7 with an LS2 intake, an Eddy 90mm throttle body, 70 lb./hr. injectors, and an intercooled Procharger P1-SC. A TH400 trans and Ford 8.8-inch rearend with 3.73 gears gets it down the road. Justin says, 'I just wanted to say thanks for the great products. I love my new Atomic LS injection kit. Getting started was easy and tech support was very helpful when I plugged in the wrong cam-sensor pigtail. I look forward to doing more tuning to my truck.' Right: Jeremy Covell’s, Spooln Squirrells Racing S-10 Blazer has a 5.3-liter LQ7 with twin HX35 turbos and an MSD 6LS box. It goes 9.60s.
