We all know the monster that is known as the Pro Touring trend, and we’ll admit up front that we’re big fans of it. What’s interesting to see is how quickly Pro Touring has placed the ’69 Camaro upon it’s pedestal as the most desired build platform. Perhaps it’s because of the ’69 Camaro’s that Mark Stielow started cranking out in the 1990’s before there was ever such a thing as Pro Touring, or perhaps it’s just because Camaro’s are now and always have been incredibly popular cars. Any way you slice it, if you’d like to get into the Pro Touring movement, want to build a car to the hilt, and never want to worry about the difficulty of finding awesome parts, the ’69 Camaro is for you.

As further proof of the ’69’s popularity, we found this thread over on Pro-Touring.com. In it was the sale of the ’69 Camaro shell you see here for $2000. We’ll include the original listing here unedited, which was posted just after midnight on Oct 18th. It had it’s first nibble at 8AM and was essentially sold by 5PM.

“Needs virtually every panel available top to bottom. Car was acid dipped and then left sitting in a barn. Have 95% of all the parts for it. missing one fender. Doors are pretty decent, cowl hood is excellent, console is there, as is the horseshoe shifter. Wheels shown on car have been sold, has rollers though.
