When General Motors introduced the world to the Nova nameplate in 1962, it was the premier trim level for Chevy’s newest compact car, the all-new Chevy II. From there, five generations of the nameplate have covered everything from Super Sports to station wagons from 1962 through 1979. The Heartland Novas Club is a group of enthusiasts passionate about these economical Chevy cruisers. Each year, the Heartland Novas club puts together its Heartland Nova Reunion, which is celebrating its 16th year on June 15-17, 2023. The event will be held at the Bally’s Hotel in Rock Island, Illinois.
The event is open to all things Nova, including new and used parts, memorabilia, and of course, the cars! All Chevy IIs and Novas manufactured between 1962 and 1979 are welcome to attend whether factory stock, modified, or race-prepped. There will be awards given and the winners will be chosen by show participants. There will be various “Choice” awards presented, as well as awards for the Top 50, Long Distance, and the best example of each generation in attendance.
If you have a similar passion for Chevy’s little Nova, then plan on attending the event and sharing all the camaraderie, enthusiasm, and fun! The Heartland Novas Club has secured a block of rooms at the participating hotel and strongly recommends pre-registering to secure your spot and obtain your discounted room reservation. Any vendors or Nova enthusiasts wanting to attend the event can contact Dale Gilmour or Ken Schoenthaler through the event registration form or by visiting the Heartland Novas website or Facebook page.
