Mr. Gasket made a strong showing at this year’s SEMA Show, coming packed with not just a super cool woody-style Suburban, but also with a wide range of new products. These included not just a new line of their famous gaskets, but a bevy of other neat items as well.
There was a lot to peruse from just a first glance. Therefore, we decided to focus on checking out two noteworthy additions to the Mr. Gasket brand. These included the aluminum collector and header gaskets, and the new black dress-up parts for your classic-looking engine bay.
First off, there were the aluminum collector and exhaust gaskets newly added to the already giant line-up of performance goodies. Similarities between these two included their use of “Dead Soft” aluminum construction, which can conform to the flange surface and reduce its pitting and warping. It does this without the danger of shrinking, deteriorating, or blowing out.
Reusability is also a major plus, allowing you to keep using these gaskets more than once when it comes time to retune the engine. It’s great news for racers, whose small-block Chevy or Ford engines can now last much longer.
In addition, black dress-up parts are now available for small-block Chevy V8s, ranging from 1955-87. These parts come in a black matte finish, and can be purchased either individually or in a kit that includes everything but the competition air cleaner (p/n 9790BP).
