We’re here at SEMA 2025, and the buzz at the Holley booth is all about their expanded EFI ecosystem. For years, LS and Gen 3 Hemi builders have had all the fun with Holley’s iconic Hi-Ram intakes, while classic Chevy guys were stuck fabricating or using older designs. As we saw firsthand, Holley has finally answered the call, bringing its modern EFI intake technology to the classic small-block and big-block Chevy platforms. These Hi-Ram intake manifold kits provide the aggressive look and high-rpm powerband of the Hi-Ram, but are specifically cast for Gen 1 SBC and MKIV BBC engines.

The real showstopper on display is the SBC version (300-951). Holley didn’t just make a tall intake; they designed a “hood-height-friendly” front-feed variant. It uses a 95mm LS-style throttle body flange and is engineered specifically to fit under the stock hoods of Gen 1, 2, and 3 Camaros and Firebirds. This is a massive win for F-body owners who want modern EFI performance without resorting to a giant cowl hood. It’s designed for 1955-86 SBCs with standard port heads and delivers a broad 1500-8000 rpm powerband. The kit comes complete with -8AN fuel rails. One important note: builders must ditch their bulky HEI distributor in favor of a small-cap design to clear the new plenum.

For those who believe “there’s no replacement for displacement,” Holley also dropped a Hi-Ram for 396- 502-plus big-block Chevy engines (300-963). This is the traditional, tall Hi-Ram design, meant for maximum performance where hood clearance isn’t a concern. It provides a cost-effective cast aluminum alternative to expensive fabricated sheet-metal or billet intakes. This BBC Hi-Ram intake manifold is designed for standard deck engines with rectangular-port heads. It features a massive 105mm LS-style throttle body flange, a 1500-8000 rpm powerband, and beefy -10AN fuel rails. Like the SBC version, it also requires a small-cap distributor.

The Holley Hi-Ram Intake Manifold: A Modern Look for Classic Power

These intakes finally bridge the gap between classic Chevy muscle and modern EFI. But as we learned at the booth, the real story is how Holley is solving that small-cap distributor requirement. This used to be a hassle, forcing builders to mix and match parts. But not anymore.

Sniper 2 EFI Bundle with HyperSpark Ignition System

This is where their expanded EFI ecosystem shines. Holley is now bundling these Hi-Ram intakes with their HyperSpark ignition. The HyperSpark distributor is a modern, small-cap design built specifically to provide the needed physical clearance and a clean rpm signal for EFI. By packaging the intake and ignition together, Holley is giving builders a complete, engineered, and cost-effective option to deliver 21st-century induction to the legendary Chevy V8s.
