We all like to talk about our rides. That’s one of the reasons we drive them, cruise in them, and hit all the hot spots with them. That is also why there are so many garages that would be best described as “man caves” where hardcore enthusiasts like to congregate and do stuff in a car-focused atmosphere. It’s all about the cars!

There’s another way you can share your ride with the world, and this one has some pretty cool perks! Readers have been submitting their rides for a while now, and we’ve been covering a new reader’s ride every other Thursday for the past few months.

We decided to ramp up our Reader’s Rides effort and allow each of you an opportunity to earn some cool swag for sharing your ride with us (and all our other readers). For each reader’s ride that we publish on ChevyHardcore.com during the 2024 calendar year, we’ll send the owner of that car a FREE T-shirt, along with some other cool Chevy Hardcore swag (while supplies last).

How Do YOU Get A Shirt?

By now you’re probably asking yourself, “How do I get one of those ultra-cool Chevy Hardcore T-shirts?” All it takes is some information and images about you and your favorite Chevy product. Yes, it has to be a Chevy vehicle, not just a Chevy-powered vehicle. Some of your cars are still projects, some being more of a project than others. We get it. We still would love to see what you’re working on! Any muscle cars, cruisers, street rods, and cool daily drivers are welcome to apply with just a few requirements.

The purpose of this exercise is to show off YOUR ride to our dozen or so other readers. LoL! That said, the images have to be good enough quality to use on the website, and we need to have enough information to adequately describe your car, and the relationship you have with it.

Also, the more info and images you submit, the more we can show of your car to the rest of our readers. You don’t need to write a “War And Peace” length diatribe, but telling us more than just a “three-fify” under the hood will certainly improve your chances. Here’s a link that might spark a few ideas on how you can share about your car.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but it helps if you tell us what is going on under the hood as well. You know your car better than anyone! We want to hear about it from you.

And don’t worry about that pesky grammar and punctuation. We need info about you and your Chevy; we can make sure it reads right. Material will be selected in accordance with our editorial calendar, with preference given to submissions that include all the necessary information and photos. Remember, you know all there is to know about your ride, but we don’t. And, we need to, so we can let other readers know about it. Also, we don’t know where you live, or what size shirt you wear, so if you want us to mail you the right shirt, ya gotta tell us where to ship it! We’ll do our best to match the requested shirt size but reserve the right to substitute as supply requires.

And please, when you’re taking those photos, make sure to use a “landscape” format (turn the phone horizontally and fill the frame with your car). That will highlight your car, not the grass or sky. Here’s a quick story we ran a while ago showing six tips for getting those perfect photos of your car. Don’t worry if you don’t have gobs of camera gear either. Cell phone pics will work just fine if that’s what you’ve got. As the story states, “the best camera for the job is the one you have,” even if it’s the one you use to call your friends or surf ChevyHardcore.com.

Let’s Start Sending Shirts!

We are going to start sending shirts with the first reader’s ride highlighted on Thursday, January 18, 2024. The plan is to run a new reader’s ride every other Thursday throughout the entire year. Each submission we highlight on the website through 2024 will receive a fresh, new Chevy Hardcore T-shirt, so you can show off your hardcore Chevy enthusiasm no matter where you are!

Remember to highlight your ride, not the sky or ground. In a world full of “Reels” and “Shorts”, don’t forget to rotate your phone or camera to fill the frame with the car. It makes for a better photo in so many ways!
