Dream Giveaway Wants You To Win This 1969 Super Sport Camaro

When it comes to muscle cars, there is one example that many enthusiasts dream of owning at some point — a 1969 Camaro. Generally speaking, many enthusiasts are not concerned about whether it’s an SS, RS, or even a COPO. The main criteria is just that it be a ’69 model. The first-gen Camaro has stunning good looks and a reputation that commands respect. However, many feel the ’69 model is the pinnacle of the design. Unfortunately, muscle cars are experiencing an ever-increasing purchase price. The early Camaro included. This means that many people will never get to know the joy of owning a classic Chevy pony car. Thankfully, the folks at Dream Giveaway Garage feel that is unacceptable.

Dream Giveaway Is Fulfilling Someone’s Dream

To get that point across, Dream Giveaway has once again, put together a sweepstake that will fulfill someone’s dream. I found out the sweepstakes powerhouse is offering this fully restored, 1969 Camaro Super Sport as the latest sweepstake’s offering for all Chevy enthusiasts. To say I was excited to hear about the latest sweepstakes when I got an email about the car is an understatement.

According to the folks at Dream Giveaway, it has recently undergone a bumper-to-bumper restoration that includes a menacing shade of red with a contrasting black vinyl top and a stock-appearing drivetrain with a plethora of hidden engine-performance upgrades. The potent motivational parts, a show-quality paint job, and a perfect muscle car interior make this a great car that anyone would be happy to own. As soon as I finished reading the email, I was immediately making plans to get to the Dream Giveaway compound to see the car in person.

Inside, the Camaro holds true to its classic design with a near-perfect restoration.

As soon as I walked into the Dream Giveaway garage area, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the car looked under the lights. The execution of how the car was put together was cause for pause. There is no doubt, the restoration features a quality job, as it still looks great.

I need to say that initially, I was not sure how I would feel about a Garnet red car that also sports a red interior. I was concerned it might be too much red. But, with the black vinyl top, I must admit, it looks really good. Speaking of the red interior, this car is fitted with a Special Interior (RPO Z23), which adds a few interior accents like a passenger grab bar, wood-accented steering wheel, and bright metal trim.

In 1968 and 1969, the features of the Z23 option were included with the Custom Interior Option (RPO Z87). The Custom Interior (a.k.a. Deluxe Interior), changed the type of upholstery used and included molded door panels, and added other interior component upgrades. Although a Houndstooth fabric seat trim was also available under RPO Z87 in ‘68 and ‘69. This car did not get that material.

Time To Hit The Road

However, as good as the car looks, it really is a car that needs to be driven. While the argument can be made that certain cars need to be preserved, I feel this is one that really needs to be enjoyed by an enthusiast who wants an above-average cruiser. So, when Christopher Phillip of Dream Giveaway tossed me the keys, I didn’t hesitate to climb behind the wheel.

Checking the order-form box for RPO Z27 makes this car a true Camaro Super Sport (SS) and offers all that includes. In other words, the car came equipped with front disc brakes, F70x14 white letter tires, and 14×7-inch wheels. Since this car is an OE-esque restoration, it might not be destined to win any autocross races, but I can attest, it’s still a fun, comfortable ride around town.

Other than the finned valve covers, it looks to be a great OE-style rebuild. I am told the small block does have some internal upgrades.

As I eased out on the clutch to leave the Dream Giveaway parking lot, I could tell this was not a car that is spirited-driver-oriented. It features 1969 technology. I am not saying it’s not a great riding and handling car. I am saying it’s on par with any restored 1969 classic. If you are looking for a race car, this is not a race car. However, it does have more than enough power to make it a respectable cruiser. The four-speed transmission is a Muncie, and does have the unmistakable Muncie “whine”. I personally wouldn’t have it any other way.

I never turned on the radio, because, for one, read the previous statement. Also, while there is an AM radio in the dash, the absence of an antenna makes it not so useful. The car does have power-assisted disc brakes, which were a welcome necessity in the St. Petersburg, Florida, traffic.

The interior’s comfort level is as you should expect in a car that was built with 1969 technology — it’s 1969 comfortable. In fact, I could see it being more than sufficient for those long weekend cruises. Overall, this is a great car the next owner will be more than happy with. Speaking of that, I should probably tell you how that new owner could actually be you.

Make It Yours

As I previously mentioned, you can own this red rocket simply by checking out the Dream Giveaway Garage website. The sweepstakes for this Camaro will run until May 31, 2022, and the winner’s name will be drawn at random on June 16, 2022. If you’re ready to make this gorgeous SS Camaro yours, here’s how you possibly can make that happen.

This might be a surprise to many, but tickets are only $3.00 apiece. Since it only takes one ticket to win, this classic ’69 could, in theory, be parked in your garage for the paltry sum of $3.00. But, since the sweepstakes will benefit several charities, you’ll feel better if you buy a few more. In fact, we want to help you increase your chances of winning.

To increase your chances, if our Chevy Hardcore readers use the promo code VY1021A when placing their order, Dream Giveaway will give you double the tickets. That means you can double the number of actual tickets you get if your donation is $25.00 or more! You can click here to buy your tickets. What are you waiting for, like I said, the sweepstake ends on May 31, 2022, and the winner’s name will be drawn on June 16, 2022.
